impeachment 3/ the filipino saga

on tuesday i'll be supporting ateneo and simbahang lingkod ng bayan's call to march to congress to appeal to the congressmen to forward the impeachment cause. i am in fact calling and texting all the people i know to come.

i do not however have any illusion that these congressmen will heed our call. that march will not have any impact whatsoever on those congressmen who have eversince listened only to the call of their personal agenda.

i do not go there also to support the opposition who have filed the amended complaint.

i support going there because i believe that it's an opportunity for people, students more especially, to immerse themselves in what's happening right now in our country; to know what are the issues (political and moral) involved, on what basis must they build their decisions upon. when they march, they will feel that they are a part of this nation, and they will be pressed to form their own opinion. that in itself is a good thing to hope for. they must find themselves involved.

that is the reason why i am supporting this rally. nevertheless, i still pray that i am wrong about these congressmen...

It is good to see that Ateneo is slowly waking up. For a few weeks then, I thought Ateneo had sold out and abandoned what is good, moral and true. I would not be surprised because the Jesuits had a questionable provincial superior before, Fr. Intengan who is a good friend of the national security adviser now. Still, what is important is to do things that pleases God and not try to please men. I hope Ateneo goes even more bolder in this campaign to rid of a lying, corrupt, overambitious person.

i heard there will be bolder steps, the objective from now on it seems is "to agitate" so as not to keep this issue dead in the minds of filipinos...thanks for dropping by...

How do you guys assess the behind the moves of el tabako? I am sure you are aware that he is walking a tightrope balance in manipulating events to try to remove her but only according to his plan which is Charter Change (that is why he supported on July 8--or else Charter Change will not happen). I have an opinion from a foreign economic analyst and his own personal opinion is that he wants el tabako back thru charter change. That analyst says that the lady really deserves to be booted out for all the shenanigans that she had done just like erap. My own take from that analyst's view is that he is an el tabako cheerleader/paid lackey. That analyst was mentioning a time table of four weeks for her ouster. Hmmm? Does he know something we do not?

I hope that the people's aspirations/prayers for genuine change and reformation for the country in terms of political, social, economic and spiritual matters will not be hijacked by el tabako and jdv and their Charter Change.

I hope you guys are aware of this.

Three stars, I am part of the not so silent majority who are sick and tired of corrupt leaders running our country, the latest of which is Gloria. I am praying that God will allow events so that a true change in heart for all Filipinos will come about. I pray that God will bring about a true change in our leadership and socioeconomic, political system so that our country will not be hostaged by one corrupt leader followed by another. I pray that the economic elite will stop thinking about themselves and seriously do their Catholic duty of taking care of the less fortunate. It is so sad to see that after we have removed Marcos, crony capitalism is alive and well under Gloria. That is the reason why you do not see many businessmen against her. Most of them are spoiled rotten by her. And I pray that God will give us a truly nationalistic, God-fearing, God loving, nation loving, able and hardworking president amidst this crisis. For in every crisis, there is an opportunity. God is giving that now, we should not make the same mistake we did in Edsa 1 and 2.

i agree. it's either we look at it as crisis or as opportunity. i pray too that we don't waste it this time. what happened in edsa 2 i think was too swift, not everyone was able to fully appreciate what was happening. this time, everything is happening too slow naman, i hope this gives enough time for everyone to sit down and continue discussing and spreading the issue to each and every Filipino concerned.
